It is not connected through public transport to Delhi or the rest of Noida
The two boards, Noida Authority Board (NAB) and Ghaziabad Development Authority Board (GDAB), have now given a green signal to taking the Metro line to Greater Noida on one side and Ghaziabad on the other, leaving the residents of Sector 62 high and dry .

The residents were pinning their hopes on the recently-held board meetings, expecting that some decision would be taken to extend the Metro line to their area but all their hopes have dashed. There was no mention of Sector 62 in the meetings.

The DTC bus service is infrequent and there are no autos

There are many cooperative group housing societies here and many students come here to attend college and other institutes

The sector is home to 45 cooperative group housing societies. There are several schools, colleges and offices too. But the area is not connect ed with other sectors of Noida or Delhi through any public transport.
This despite the fact that there is a large population of office-goers from Sector 62 to Delhi and scores of students also visit the area daily to attend a college here. Buses are far and few between, the autos are nil. The residents depend on cycle-rickshaws and vikrams. Faced with the lack of public transport connecting the area, the residents of various societies in Sector 62 have been demanding a Metro link for a long time.

"For reaching Sector 18 we have to change three buses," says Anupama Soneja. "Even for reaching NH24, there is no bus, though we are just along the highway We are totally de .

pendent on cycle rick shaws and it is painful commuting a long distance in this slow-moving vehicle," she adds.

The residents complain of step-motherly treatment by the authorities. "The DTC bus service is also infrequent and we cannot depend on it," says another resident, Sanjay Gulabani. "Now that the Metro rail is coming to Noida, the sector should be at least connected to it. Instead of terminat ing at Sector 37, Sector 62 should be the last stop for the line coming from Anand Vihar," says a resident, Ruma Guliani. "Considering there is a large population of people, including students who commute to Delhi daily the Metro rail , stands to gain a lot,"
