In order to save river Hindon from further contamination, the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) has planned to set up a sewage treatment plant (STP) for the city. LUCKNOW: The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has sanctioned the work for widening of 20-km stretch of National Highway-24, between the Delhi-UP border and Dasna and making it a 6-lane facility. This decision is likely to facilitate movement of traffic between residential localities of Indirapuram, Noida and Ghaziabad. The bids for the work have been opened and are currently under-evaluation. While the civil work is expected to cost Rs 97 crore, the cost of utility shifting and tree-cutting will require an expenditure of Rs 31 crore. The project includes the construction of a new 2-lane carriageway, promises an improvement in the riding quality of the existing 4-lane carriageway, constructing 5 underpasses, widening 23 culverts and constructing bus-bays and other safety features. Highway Projects To Take-Off Soon To Connnect NH-58 With NH24 And NH-24 To Greater Noida Major bottlenecks for two projects, which will connect National Highway-58 with NH24 and NH-24 to Greater Noida, have been cleared and work is expected to commence soon. The projects, planned under the Urban Infrastructure Development Scheme for Small & Medium Towns (UIDSSMT), were pending for over four years. "The tender invitation process has been initiated for the NH-58 to NH-24 link and land acquisition for NH-24 to Greater Noida link is in the final stages. Construction is expected to begin within few months," said Anil Garg, chief engineer at Ghaziabad Development Authority. The link roads will benefit NH-58 commuters who wish to directly reach Noida and Delhi via NH 24. The Delhi Development Authority is getting set to announce a mega housing scheme under which 15,000 flats will be up for allotment, through the authority's usual lottery system, across various areas in the Capital. Sources in the DDA have confirmed to Newsline that the authority hopes to float the scheme no later than the second week of November. The authority, in August this year, had said it would announce the scheme before the Commonwealth Games in September. "We are working on the final modalities of the housing scheme, which will be announced by September," DDA vicechairman Ashok Rai had said. Officials in the authority said with attention completely focused on the Games, the DDA could not announce the scheme in September. However, with `watch and ward' or the maintenance costs rapidly piling on completed flats, the authority is keen to begin the process of allotting. Water supply to 19 districts of Uttar Pradesh, including Muzaffarnagar, Meerut, Bulandshar, Aligarh, Etah, Hathras, Firozabad, Mathura, Fatehpur and Kanpur, will also be disrupted due to which the farmers will face shortage of water for irrigation, they said. Alternative source of water like tubewells and pump sets can be used by farmers in these areas to meet their irrigation needs during the period, they said. नए सेक्टर बसाने के साथ साथ अथॉरिटी अब इन सेक्टरों में मार्केट बनाने की प्लानिंग करने में जुट गई है। इससे न ए सेक्टरों में रहने वाले लोगों को जरूरत का सामान खरीदने के लिए इधर उधर नहीं भटकना पड़ेगा। इसके लिए ग्रेटर नोएडा अथॉरिटी जल्द ही कमर्शल दुकानों की स्कीम लॉन्च करने जा रही है। ये दुकानें नए सेक्टर-1, 2 व 3 में होंगी। इसके अलावा पुराने सेक्टरों की मार्केट में बनी उन दुकानों का डेटा निकाला जा रहा है, जो आवंटित नहीं हुई हैं।   ग्रेटर नोएडा अथॉरिटी ने नोएडा एक्सटेंशन के सेक्टर 1, 2 व 3 में बिल्डरों के लिए प्लांट आवंटित किए हैं। इन फ्लैटों का कंस्ट्रक्शन शुरू हो चुका है। अथॉरिटी ने भी करीब डेढ़ साल पहले प्लॉटों की स्कीम लॉन्च की थी। अब इन सेक्टरों में बसने वाले लोगों को जरूरत का सामान एक ही छत के नीचे मिल जाए इसके लिए अथॉरिटी दुकानों की स्कीम लाने की तैयारी कर रही है।   पुराने सेक्टर अल्फा, बीटा, गामा, डेल्टा, स्वर्णनगरी में बनी मार्केट में उन दुकानों को भी स्कीम में शामिल किया जाएगा, जिनको अलॉट नहीं किया गया है। स्कीम लाने के लिए अथॉरिटी का प्लानिंग विभाग तैयारी में लगा गया है।

नोएडा, संवाददाता : राष्ट्रमंडल खेल समाप्त होने के बावजूद शहर की सड़कों और फुटपाथ को सही करने का काम जारी है। शुक्रवार को प्राधिकरण ने फिल्म सिटी से सेक्टर 18 की तरफ जाने वाले मार्ग को दुरूस्त करने काम पूरा कर दिया। इसी मार्ग पर सेक्टर 18 से फिल्म सिटी तक की सड़क बननी अभी बाकी है। वरिष्ठ परियोजना अभियंता एके गोयल ने बताया कि अगले सप्ताह तक दूसरी तरफ की सड़क बनाने और फुटपाथ को सही करने का काम भी शुरू कर दिया जाएगा। करीब पांच सौ मीटर के मार्ग को सही करने और संवारने में एक करोड़ रुपये खर्च होंगे। एक माह में काम पूरा कर लिया जाएगा। इसके बाद बीच में पड़ने वाले पुल पर अक्सर लगने वाले जाम की समस्या कुछ हद तक कम हो जाएगी। ज्ञात हो कि पुल पर बॉटलनेक होने की वजह से अक्सर सुबह-शाम जाम जैसी स्थिति हो जाती है। वाहन चालकों को काफी परेशानी का सामना करना पड़ता है। हालांकि बॉटलनेक की मुख्य वजह सेक्टर 18 से फिल्म सिटी की तरफ उल्टी दिशा में आने वाले रिक्शा और वाहन हैं। इनके पुल पर पहुंचने से मार्ग और संकरा हो जाता है, जो जाम की बड़ी वजह है। उल्टी दिशा में आने वाले रिक्शा व वाहनों की आवाजाही पूरी तरह से बं

India's leading power producer, NTPC Ltd on Monday commissioned the first unit of its 1,500- MW project in Jhajjar, Haryana to meet the energy needs of Delhi and the national capital region (NCR). NTPC has already commissioned two units of 490 MW each of its Dadri plant for the Games. " Both Jhajjar as well as the Dadri plant will be fully dedicated for power supply to Delhi and NCR later this year," an NTPC official told Mail Today. The official said that the power generation facility at the Jhajjar plant has been advanced to meet the power requirement for the Commonwealth Games (CWG). These spaces are part of the “common areas” in flat complexes and not “saleable independently as a flat or along with a flat”, the court said in a judgment. The verdict sets a precedent even as the apex court took note that builders/promoters/developers were “indulging in malpractices in the sale and transfer of flats and the flat purchasers were being exploited”. Patnaik in a judgment rejected the argument of a real estate development company that they were entitled to sell garages/stilt parking areas as separate flats to owners who intend to use it as parking facilities. "If a promoter does not fully disclose the common areas and facilities, he does so at his own peril. TIMES NEWS NETWORK New Delhi: To improve the connectivity between Delhi and parts of Ghaziabad and Noida, the highways ministry has now sanctioned the widening of the 20-km stretch of NH-24. The existing 4-lane stretch between Uttar Pradesh border and Dasna will be widened to six lanes. The project will cost Rs 128 crore, according to an official document issued by the ministry of road transport and highways (MoRTH). The stretch will get five underpasses and 23 existing culverts will be widened. The document states that the government took this decision in response to the persistent demands of residents of Ghaziabad, Noida and Indirapuram, besides public representatives and media persons. Officials said the work would be awarded soon so that the task of widening starts at the earliest. Faced with protests by farmers demanding higher compensation for land acquired for a township along the Taj Expressway, the Mayawati government on Tuesday decided to hike the price offered to them by 20 per cent at Rs 570 per square metre. A team of top state officials led by state cabinet secretary Sashankh Sekhar Singh and some senior ministers of the Mayawati government held parleys with farmer leader Ram Babu Kateria at the Aligarh airstrip in the early hours on Tuesday. Senior Superintendent of Police, Aligarh, Satender Veer Singh said that "The package offered by the state government includes the provision of raising the compensation price offered to the farmers to Rs 570 per square metre (about 20 per cent higher than the earlier price)". The GDA will float the tender for the bridge sometime in July. "From the day one, we were stuck on the huge cost of construction and it became hard to carry forward this project without getting the green signal from the state administration. Now the cost has been reduced from Rs 29 crore to Rs 25 crore in fresh revision," said Anil Garg chief engineer GDA. Garg said construction would start very soon.
