3 Gr. Noida villages included in Gzb

Ghaziabad, May 13
The state administration has ordered that three Greater Noida villages, Akbarpur-Behrampur, Hindhora and Swai be included in Ghaziabad district.

A letter from principal secretary Alok Sinha, received by vice-chairman of Ghaziabad Development Authority, says that the three villages have been included in the Ghaziabad Development Authority area from the previous date. This will put an end to the controversy whether the three villages should remain in Greater Noida of Gautam Budh Nagar district or be reverted to GDA.

Akarpur-Bahrampur, Hindhora and Swai were included in Ghaziabad Development Authority on March 9, 1977.

But as Greater Noida was set up, these villages had become part of Greater Noida on February 21, 1994. A dispute had arisen when villages were de-notified by Greater Noida on May 7, 1999. This has resulted in residents of three villages becoming a part of the dispute between the two authorities.

The GDA had in a letter asked the state government that these villages be transferred to the GDA area. Now the administration has through its notification included the villages into Ghaziabad (GDA).
