Work begins to widen entrance to UP on NH-24
Good news for commuters of NH 24 battered by hours-long traffic jams and chaos. Relief is in sight as work for improving mobility at UP Gate has started. According to officials, widening of the entrance to UP on NH-24 has begun and is likely to be completed by March-end. UP Gate is the entrance to UP on the National Highway NH 24 that connects Delhi to Lucknow running 438 kilometres. NH 24 is not only the connecting road for vehicles coming from Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, but an access point for lakhs of citizens who reside in Indirapuram, Vasundhara, Vaishali and Kaushambi in Ghaziabad and several residential, institutional and commercial sectors of Noida. Besides, it is also used by trucks going towards the Inland Container Depot (ICD) at Patparganj, the wholesale fish and poultry market, the vegetable and fruits market, the MCD abattoir and the garbage landfill site.
