Reliance retail in Ghaziabad
Reliance Retail is expected to launch their operations in the Delhi NCR region starting this coming week. The company already has a presence in the southern Indian states.
The company would enter the market with their western-style convenience stores and they are aiming to invest around Rs 8,000 crore on this venture.
Reliance would be entering the market with around nine “Reliance Fresh” stores to be opened in Ghaziabad, Faridabad, Gurgaon and Noida.
The company also has plans to invest around Rs 25,000 crore over the next five years for its retail business.
Reliance Retail is said to have plans to open up 400 to 600 stores in the Delhi NCR region. We are already seeing construction work going on near our office in Gurgaon.
They are not alone. Even Bharti has plans to enter this segment in collaboration with Wal-Mart. They are expected to start their operations starting next month.
