UPPCL comment on power breakdowns
Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) Blames Strong Winds For Power Bbreakdowns

"The power situation in our sector is dismal. Whenever there is a little breeze our lights go off. The supply is not resumed for as long as three-four hours. The UPPCL says electricity goes off due to the strong wind," says Virendra Singh, president, Sector 61 RWA.
"As electric cables are overhead on the poles in Noida, the concerned sub stations have to cut off the power supply in the event of even a mild wind blowing, to avoid mingling of cables which may result in a complete breakdown," says M. K. Sharma, secretary general of the Federation of Noida Residents Welfare Associations (FONRWA).
